A new website to promote network services

"The biggest merit of Human Interface Group is that they taught us to look at our customers’ needs. From that basis, they take a step-by-step approach to achieve a beautifully structured website with the customer experience taking center stage. The result is a website that helps both technical and more commercial people in the best possible way."

"The people of Human Interface Group were genuinely interested and involved in this assignment and clearly made every effort to make it a success. Their design was not entirely in line with the guidelines of the Flemish government, but a compromise was reached through constructive dialogue. During this process, the web designers at the Flemish government even learned a thing or two from HIG. My colleagues are jealous of the site and my boss is sending the links to all our customers. I think we did a good job with Human Interface Group."

At the end of the nineties, the Flemish Government started laying fiber-optic connections along the road network in Flanders. Government institutions can connect to this network through the public agency ‘Agentschap Wegen en Verkeer (AWV)’, in order to connect several locations and buildings to each other. The network offers them a fast and reliable connection for a fraction of the price they would pay for commercial networks. In addition, another Flemish government agency, ‘het Facilitair bedrijf’ (HFB), offers a wide range of network services, such as wireless connections inside the buildings.

The first version of the website failed to promote the network in a convincing way.

In the new version of the website that we created the value proposition is immediately put forward: reliable fiber-optic connections and network services for and by the Flemish government.

For a technical and non-technical audience

The website is meant for people in IT, but also for the executives within the Flemish government agencies. While the first group is primarily looking for technical information and specifications, the second group will quickly give up at the sight of such complex information. The new website immediately offers comprehensible information, but also contains technical information. Both target groups are served in this way.

Persuasive information for every customer

The website was initially structured based on the perspective of the organization, not that of a potential customer. Hence it failed to fully answer the customers’ specific questions. Through workshops with actual customers, we gauged the needs and expectations of prospects. This information was the basis upon which we developed a clear service package.

The homepage offers a clear overview of the service package

The information is now tailored to the customer’s perspective, regardless of which of the 2 organizations – AWV or HFB – offers the service in question. The emphasis is on convincing customers by highlighting the advantages. In addition, the right call-to-actions and an accessible contact procedure are a way to encourage the client to get in touch without delay.

Customer stories and quotes from happy customer further strengthen the credibility and underline the quality of the available services.
